Awareness walk set for Sunday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer and domestic violence, the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will host an awareness walk this Saturday.

The “Still I Rise” event will involve an awareness walk and presentation to attendees. This Sunday, Oct. 19, the event will be held at the Warren Central Intermediate School located at 2147 Sherman Avenue, at 4 p.m.

The event is free to the public, and guests may bring toiletries which will be donated to the local women’s shelter.
