Across the Universe

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Strand Theatre will host Across The Universe this Saturday, November 16 at 7 p.m.

Across the Universe is a 2007 American jukebox musical directed by Julie Taymor, centered on songs by the Beatles.

Director Julie Taymor uses the music of the Beatles to create a revolutionary rock musical that re-imagines America in the turbulent late-1960s, a time when battle lines were being drawn at home and abroad. The film weaves a love story between Jude, a British artist, and Lucy, an American activist, using reimagined songs by The Beatles to explore themes of love, war, and social upheaval.

Tickets are $9 in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse, and $10 at the door.

The Strand Theatre is located at 717 Clay Street.
