A live performance of Other Desert Cities, this weekend at the Strand

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Strand will host a live performance of Other Desert Cities at the Strand this weekend, featuring local talent, including fan favorites Jack Burns and Stacy Schrader.

The play is about family secrets and political tension in the family. The protagonist, Brooke Wyeth, returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. She arrives bearing the manuscript of a memoir that reveals a devastating episode in the life of her wealthy Republican family. Brooke announces that she is about to publish the book, dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family’s history – a wound they don’t want reopened.

In addition to Burns and Schrader, the cast includes Reba Causey, Jim Biedenbach, and Jeanie Nicolson.

Other Desert Cities will run this weekend and next on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
