Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office uncovers theft ring after stolen truck found

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A tip from Louisiana authorities about a stolen truck led Claiborne County deputies to uncover a suspected theft ring involving multiple stolen vehicles and ATVs, sparking a multi-agency investigation and several arrests.
On Monday, July 14, 2025, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana regarding the theft of a 2022 Ford F-350 that had been purchased using a fraudulent cashier’s check. After realizing the check was counterfeit, the vehicle’s owner activated the truck’s OnStar tracking device, which led authorities to a location on Barland Road in Claiborne County.
Deputies promptly responded and located the stolen F-350. While investigating the scene, an additional stolen vehicle was also discovered. This led to a broader investigation that has resulted in the recovery of several ATVs and vehicles believed to be connected to a larger organized theft operation.
The following individuals have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of stolen property:
• Marvin Ratliff Jr.
• Jadariz McDaniel
• Terrance Edwards, arrested in Richland, but originally from Claiborne County
• A juvenile, whose name is being withheld due to age
Active warrants have been issued for the following individuals:
• DeiAriton Warner, also known as “Bo Bo,” of Hermanville, Mississippi
• Trey Watts of Hinds County
• Jatius Thompson-Owens
Investigators from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce are assisting in the case and providing essential support and resources.
Sheriff Edward Goods issued the following statement:
“This investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are forthcoming. We want the public to know that if you are in possession of any of these stolen vehicles or ATVs, you have until Monday morning, July 21, 2025, to voluntarily bring them to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office.
Some individuals may have unknowingly purchased stolen property, and we are willing to consider that. However, make no mistake—these vehicles belong to someone else. Returning them voluntarily may protect you from further consequences.
To those actively participating in this type of crime: know that you will be arrested and prosecuted.”
This remains an active investigation, and additional updates will be provided as they become available.
