Darren Johnson arrested for aggravated assault in Port Gibson

PORT GIBSON, Miss. (VDN) — Darren Johnson was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred in November 2025 at the Citgo convenience store in Port Gibson, Mississippi.

Johnson was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Following his arrest, bond was set by the Honorable Judge Penny Lawson in the amounts of $250,000 for Aggravated Assault and $75,000 for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

During the investigation, Johnson fled from law enforcement and refused to turn himself in. As a result, the U.S. Marshals Service was contacted to assist in locating and apprehending him. Johnson was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.

At the time of this arrest, Johnson was on probation for Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. The Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on Johnson.

This investigation remains ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
