Deborah Sue (Browman) Outman, 71, lost her battle with covid / pneumonia January 22, 2023 at Gilmore-Amory Hospital, but won her eternal reward in Heaven.

Deb was born in Texas and raised in Vicksburg MS. She met her husband Vaughn forty years ago at a job interview, in which she was hired as the Office Manager for Interstate Nuclear Services in Vicksburg. After her marriage to Vaughn, Deb had to leave her job per company policy. She then worked for many years at the Waterways Experiment Station and other Federal agencies in her career. Deb eventually retired from the VA Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where she worked for the head of the Neurology department. She loved, and took great pride in, her work for the VA Medical System, since her father served in the US Marine Corps. Deb made many great friends and considered it a blessing to help all the veterans.

Deb and Vaughn were Christians by faith, serving where they felt led through the years. They worked with both Prison Fellowship and the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry throughout the 1990’s, leading numerous seminars in several prisons across Mississippi. Deb led the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree program in Vicksburg, which provided Christmas gifts to the children of inmates. She also taught Sunday school for many years, teaching pre-teens and the teenage Christeens groups at Messiah Lutheran Church in Vicksburg and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Deb was by every account, a very special person. She loved her friends and family fiercely, especially her three granddaughters. And she wouldn’t let anyone “get away” with bad behavior, most of all her granddaughters, husband, brother, and cousin. In retirement, her and Vaughn were able to travel to several states while living out of their RV. They loved their time “on the road”, visiting many places, making many friends, and sharing the love of Christ along the way.

For those and so many more reasons than we could ever list, Deb will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wessie Lee Browman. Left to cherish the many fond memories are: her loving husband Vaughn of Amory; her son Dustin of Vicksburg and daughter Olivia of Blackfoot Idaho; one brother, David Browman and his wife Winnie of Brandon; her cousin Janet Nelson of Vicksburg, niece Ashley Lucas of Gluckstadt, and nephew David Browman of Jackson. She leaves a legacy of three granddaughters: Gracie Hull of Vicksburg, with Taylor and Jordyn Winmill, both of Blackfoot Idaho, along with numerous extended family and friends through the years.

Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A Celebration of Deb’s Life is set for Saturday, February 11th at St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood, beginning at 10:00 AM. Everyone who knew and loved her are encouraged to come. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Outman family in their time of need and asks everyone to remember Vaughn and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.”
