Dressbarn closes its doors by year’s end
Dressbarn at the Outlets of Vicksburg will close soon, along with all of the chain’s brick-and-mortar stores nationwide.
The company opened its first store in Connecticut in 1962. It began what it calls a “wind down” in May and has closed more than 100 of its 650 stores since then. The final closings will begin today, Nov. 1, and all stores will be closed by Dec. 26.
“As part of our planned wind down, which has received overwhelming support from our landlord and vendor community, we are starting store closing sales at the balance of our 544 brick and mortar retail stores on Friday,” Steven Taylor, Dressbarn chief financial officer, said in a release.
The Company has partnered with Gordon Brothers to assist in the store closing process.
“Customers can take advantage of discounts on all merchandise, including new fall and winter apparel and accessories, from 20 to 40 percent off original prices,” a spokesperson for Gordon Brothers said in the release. “Given Dressbarn’s loyal customer base and the popularity of its merchandise, we encourage customers to shop early for the best selection.”
The chain’s e-commerce site will remain open for business during the store closing process, and will accept gift cards and merchandise credits through Dec. 31, 2019, or while merchandise supplies last.
The company will launch a new platform and look of dressbarn.com on or about Jan. 1, 2020.
