Early morning gunfire on MLK Blvd sends one to hospital

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A shooting incident in the early morning hours in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King (MLK) Blvd. has left one person injured, according to Vicksburg Police Department interim Chief Mitchell Dent.

Details surrounding the cause of the early morning incident, including the name of the victim, have not been made available at this time.

“The case is still in the early stages of investigation,” said Chief Dent. “We will know more as we continue to investigate. Officers spoke to the victim at the hospital, and investigators spoke with him.”

According to Dent, the victim was treated and released from the hospital.
