The City of Vicksburg recognized Vicksburg Fire Department employees Reginald Galloway and Jabaris McDaniel for their five years of service.

Both men have continued to serve the city proudly as they have moved up to Lieutenant in the ranks. Fire Chief Craig Danczyk did not miss the opportunity to express his appreciation for the dedication they have shown to the department.

“Lt. Galloway and Lt. McDaniel, they have been two examples of how to do everything correctly at the fire department.  In less than five years, they hired on and got their fire firefighter [certification], got their EMT, got their paramedic and made Lieutenant.   These gentlemen here are on the path that you want to follow with the Vicksburg Fire Department,” Danczyk said. “They are absolutely rock stars and we are very fortunate to have them.”

McDaniel was not able to make it to receive his recognition in person as he was working at a fire at the time of the meeting.

The board also recognized Matthew Barnes with the Vicksburg Police Department for his five years with the city as well.  Barnes served the country in the military before joining the police force five years ago, and how serves alongside his K-9 partner Nadia.  Be sure to check out our Those Who Keep Us Safe profile on Officer Barnes and his service to the community.

Vicksburg is lucky to have these three great guys protecting our citizens and putting their lives on the line everyday.
