Honoring the life of Bobbie Horn
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Bobbie Hutchison Horn, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Horn was born to the late Redmond B. Hutchison, Sr. and Idelle Rowland Hutchison. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Redmond B. Hutchison, Jr., and her sister, Marilyn Strong.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Todd Horn; her daughter, Lisa Mize Cowart (Paul); her cherished grandchildren, Grayson and Kannon Cowart; and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to honor her memory.
Horn retired from the State of Mississippi, where she faithfully served as an accountant. She was a lifelong, devoted church member and most recently attended First Baptist Church in Clinton. Even when she was no longer able to attend in person, she remained active through the church letter writing ministry, a reflection of her steadfast faith and servant’s heart.
She had a love for travel and adventure, visiting all 48 continental states as well as Canada. At home, she found joy in sewing, tending to flowers, painting, cooking for those she loved, and working crossword puzzles. She approached life with creativity, curiosity, and quiet determination.
Above all, Horn’s greatest joy was her family. She shared a deep and abiding devotion to her husband, Todd, and her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Horn will be remembered for her faith, her dedication to family, and the warmth and kindness she extended to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation for Horn will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Clinton, Miss., from 12 noon until 2 p.m. with the service immediately following at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Clinton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Clinton or Hillcrest Baptist Church in Byram.
