Remembering Omar Kareem Muhammad Jr. 

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Funeral Service for Omar Kareem  Muhammad Jr are to be held on Sunday, Feb. 22, at Artis T. Williams Auditorium at 1 p.m. with Rev Joe Harris officiating; interment shall follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 21, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. 

Muhammad was born June 1, 2001 in Dallas, Texas to Lekisha Felix and Omar Muhammad Sr. He graduated from Warren Central High School in 2020. He passed away on February 7, 2026.

On the evening of Saturday, Feb. 7, emergency responders were called to Commodore Apartments in Vicksburg, Miss., following a distressing 911 call that led to the discovery of Omar deceased on the premises.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Omari Lauren Thomas; his parents; grandparents; siblings; aunts and uncles; a host of nieces; nephews; and cousins.
