He was born in Lorman, Miss., on August 11, 1939, to Charles A. and Maggie Richardson McMahon. He worked at Marathon Letourneau for 18 years. He loved his family and was affectionally known as Papa Bill. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha Virginia and a son David McMahon.

He is survived by his daughters Kathy McMahon and Theresa Mitchell (Tim); brother John Bellinger; grandsons Cody Mitchell (Sarah), Matthew Mitchell (Krysten), Adam McMahon (Annie), Ryan Guzman (Haley), Joseph McMahon (Blanca), Joshua McMahon (Rachel), and Jacob McMahon (Jessica); and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, La.. a graveside service will follow in Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, La., at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Jones officiating.

Pallbearers will be Joseph McMahon, Cody Mitchell, Adam McMahon, Joshua McMahon, Matthew Mitchell, Jacob McMahon, and Ryan Guzman.
