Judge Terrett revokes bond for Vicksburg murder suspect
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — A judge has revoked bond for a Vicksburg man awaiting trial in a 2023 homicide after he was accused of shooting at the same victim in two separate incidents back in December.
Warren County Circuit Judge Toni Terrett ordered Demarcus Wilson back to jail following testimony related to new aggravated assault charges. Wilson was returned to the Warren County Jail.
Assistant District Attorney Branan Southerland represented the state and called Investigator Robert Barfield to testify about the allegations.
Barfield said the shootings occurred Dec. 7 and Dec. 16, 2025, on Johnson Drive. The victim in both cases identified Wilson as the gunman, according to court testimony.
During the hearing, Southerland told the court that prosecutors had previously shown leniency to Wilson because of his young age at the time, hoping he would change the direction of his life.
Wilson was represented by defense attorney Lane Campbell.
Wilson had been free on bond while awaiting trial in the 2023 killing of 13-year-old Carleone Woodland. He also faces an aggravated assault charge in that case.
After hearing the testimony, Terrett revoked Wilson’s bond.
