Vicksburg native K.K. Willis is now coaching basketball at Jackson Prep.

Willis, who spent last season as St. Aloysius girls’ Head Basketball Coach, was announced as the JP’s Head Eighth Grade Coach on Saturday.

“We are excited to announce the hiring of KK Willis to our basketball staff,” the Jackson Prep Facebook post read. “Coach Willis comes to Prep after serving as the head coach at St. Aloysius this past year. She will assist on the varsity and JH teams, as well as serve as our head 8th-grade coach. Coach Willis, welcome to the Prep Family.”

Willis was a star basketball player at Porter’s Chapel Academy where she helped the Lady Eagles to a state championship appearance in her freshman season. She went through four knee surgeries in high school. Willis averaged 14 points per game as a freshman, 19.3 points per game as a sophomore, and 16 points per game as a senior where she was named the Conference 7-A MVP.
