Man killed, baby kidnapped in Jackson home invasion

A 42 year old man was killed and a baby kidnapped following a home invasion on Jayne Avenue in Jackson.

The incident occured around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to a report by WLBT, the intruders, a group comprosed of a 23-year-old white female and four black males, forcibly entered the residence by breaking down the door. Upon entry, one resident, the 42-year-old man, was killed and a 10-month-old baby was taken at gunpoint.

One suspect, identified as Jazmyn Jonson was subsequently apprehended at a gas station on Lynch Street. There, the baby was safely recovered.

Johnson has been charged with capital murder, armed robbery, burglary of an occupied dwelling and kidnapping. Authorities anticipate more arrests and charges.
