Mississippi GOP announces qualified candidates

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Mississippi Republican Party is announcing that the following candidates have successfully filed to qualify as Republican candidates for the 2026 federal elections:

United States House of Representatives Congressional District One
Trent Kelly

United States House of Representatives Congressional District Three
Michael Guest

United States House of Representatives Congressional District Two
Ron Eller
Kevin Wilson

United States House of Representatives Congressional District Four
Mike Ezell
Sawyer Walters

Pursuant to Section 23-15-299(3)(a) of the Mississippi Code, an individual who desires to run as a party or independent candidate for federal office in 2026 is required to file with their respective party or, if independent, with the Mississippi Secretary of State, by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025.

The candidates listed above have met that statutory deadline in filing with the Mississippi Republican Party and, pursuant to state law, the Mississippi Republican Party is transmitting their names, written statements and affidavits, and other legally required documents to the Mississippi Secretary of State as required by statute.
