Section of North Washington to be closed later this month

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A portion of North Washington Street will be closed to traffic later in January as work is scheduled on power lines.

The City of Vicksburg has announced Entergy will be working on power lines located along North Washington Street from January 12 through January 19. Traffic will not be allowed on North Washington during that time frame.

The section that will be closed to traffic is about 350 yards on the northbound lane ending at Sherman Avenue. Traffic will not be able to enter North Washington Street from Greenview Drive and will be detoured to Sherman Avenue instead.

The city urges drivers to use caution and make plans for alternative routes.
