Spring flag-raising ceremony to honor Sherman Hull

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Calling all supporters of our military friends, the Spring Flag-Raising ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 in memory of Sherman Cody Hull, Jr. Hull was born March 5 1933 and passed away July 25, 2025.
The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. The venue for the flag-raising will be the overlook at the Mississippi Welcome Center, 4210 Washington Street, next to the Highway 80 Bridge entrance.

The flag flying on the bridge at that time
will be lowered around 5 minutes before the hour of the flag ceremony.

Please plan to assemble at least 15 minutes before the hour of the ceremony. The new flag (folded) will be presented to the family of Sherman Hull. After the new flag has been raised, the Chairman of the Army-Navy Club’s Flag Project will lead everyone in the “Pledge of Allegiance” to our beautiful flag, which concludes the ceremony.
