Monterey, La. man under investigation for child sex crimes spanning decades
MONTEREY, La. (VDN) — A Monterey man is facing charges for alleged sex crimes spanning more than 30 years, following an investigation that has already identified multiple juvenile victims.
57-year-old Jimmie Maier Jr. was arrested July 11 by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Concordia Parish Correctional Center on four counts of sexual battery of a victim under 13 and two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles under 13. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
According to the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile on May 21. The investigation was turned over to detectives with the Cyber/Special Victims Unit, who identified Maier as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
According to authorities, the crimes under investigation stretch back more than three decades, and several additional victims have now been identified. Further charges are expected.
Maier was taken into custody without incident by Concordia Parish deputies, detectives, and agents with Louisiana Probation and Parole.
