Remembering James Tobin Wilson

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — James Tobin “Toby” Wilson, 69, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026.

Toby was born on February 21, 1957, in Vicksburg to James and Betty Wilson. After a long career he retired from Waterways Experiment Station as an architect.

Toby loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. He also had a fondness for automobiles, particularly his Rolls-Royce.

He is survived by his sister, Jamie Leach of Vicksburg; his brother, Dusty Wilson of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Wilson; his sister-in-law, Tamara Wilson; and his brother-in-law, Roy Leach.

A private service will be held.
