Remembering Roy Landers
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Ernest Roy Landers, age 65, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on February 15, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1961, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Roy dedicated 30 years of service to Letourneau, where his work allowed him to travel all over the world. He took great pride in his career and the opportunities it provided, forming lasting friendships along the way.
He was a man who truly loved the simple joys of life. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and gardening. Whether he was tending his garden, preparing a meal for those he loved, or spending time outdoors, he found happiness in sharing those moments with family and friends. He especially loved gathering with his family, enjoying good conversation, laughter, and a beer — or sometimes more.
Roy is survived by his son, Ernest Roy Landers, Jr. (Jessica); his daughter, Ashley (Jake) Wallace; and his cherished grandchildren, Hunter Landers, Haley Landers, Madelyn Wallace, and Brady Wallace. He is also survived by his siblings: Charlie (Nu) Jordan, Kathy (Ronnie) Barrett, Billy Landers, Ralph (Mary) Landers, and Annette (Jerry) Laiche.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Vera Landers.
Roy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the way he lived life fully and simply. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services were held at 12 noon on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at Glenwood Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Tony Monk. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Butch Landers, Pat Parker, Billy Ray Muirhead, Wayne Ellis, Marty Dement and David Lewis.
