Vicksburg Fire Department seeks to ‘fill the boot’ for MDA

The Vicksburg Fire Department is taking a proactive step to assist the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by stationing firefighters outside Walmart. Over the next three days, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., they will be welcoming donations from the public.

For those willing to contribute, the firefighters have set up an actual boot on a table where cash donations can be dropped to “fill the boot”. Recognizing the growing preference for cashless transactions, the department has also provided a scannable QR code for electronic contributions.

“We’d love for the community to come out and talk to us and donate for a great cause,” said Deputy Fire Chief Jessica Cade.
