VPD identifies victim in fatal single-vehicle crash
Vicksburg Police Department has identified the victim involved in the single-vehicle crash that occurred on July 19.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Police Department has identified the victim involved in the single-vehicle crash that occurred on July 19, 2026, in the parking lot of 2842 Clay Street as Ruby Franklin, 62, of Vicksburg.
According to the preliminary investigation, Franklin experienced a medical emergency while operating her vehicle before it struck a fixed object in the parking lot.
VPD records state Franklin was transported to Merit Health River Region, where she was later pronounced deceased.
VPD has stated it extends its condolences to the family and friends of Franklin during this difficult time.
The investigation remains ongoing. No additional information is available for release at this time.
