Morgan becomes Warren Central’s all-time passing yards leader

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School junior quarterback Nash Morgan is now the school’s all-time leader in passing yards.
Morgan set the new mark Friday night after throwing for 123 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-6 victory over Greenville High School. The moment was especially meaningful because the previous record belonged to his uncle, Rob Morgan, who also serves as Warren Central’s offensive coordinator.
“This was a special moment but it was still a team effort because I didn’t do this alone,” Nash said. “I’m glad the record gets to stay in my family and it’s even more special that it was my uncle’s record because he’s my offensive coordinator as well.”
Before Friday’s game, Morgan had 3,300 career passing yards and needed 74 yards to surpass his uncle’s record. He finished the night with 3,423 career yards, securing the top spot in the program’s history while helping lead the Vikings to another district win.
Now in his third year as the starting quarterback, Morgan has guided Warren Central to back-to-back district titles and has the team in position to claim a third consecutive championship if current trends continue.
In addition to his passing success, Morgan has been a major rushing threat this season, averaging more than 100 rushing yards per game and approaching the 1,000-yard mark on the ground in the upcoming weeks if his performances continue to excel.
The Vikings (5-2) will travel to face Neshoba Central (4-3) on Friday. Both teams enter the matchup 2-0 in district play.
