VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Will Conway Children’s Benefit raised $36,000 for Jacob’s Ladder and Rainbow Farms during its annual event held Dec. 4 at Beechwood Restaurant & Lounge. Proceeds from the event were split evenly between the two organizations.

Now in its 18th year, the benefit drew a large crowd for an evening of live music, auctions and fellowship in support of local programs. The event featured a $1,000 raffle drawing, and the winner generously donated the prize money back to the cause.

“It is a wonderful event that supports two important programs in our community,” said Rebecca Busby of Jacob’s Ladder. “It couldn’t have happened without Will Hood and the Beechwood staff, along with Kathy Conway and her crew.”

A live auction featuring approximately 20 firearms generated much of the revenue. Several ceramic pieces also were auctioned for $3,000. In addition, a variety of hunting gear and donated items were sold, including a signed football from Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.

The benefit is named in honor of Will Conway, who died in 2020 at age 32. Conway attended Jacob’s Ladder and enjoyed therapeutic horseback riding. While he is no longer present, his legacy continues through an event that brings the community together for a meaningful cause.
