At least one killed in Warren County crash
WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — At least one person has been confirmed dead after a crash that occurred late Saturday night in Warren County. The wreck happened around 11:15 p.m. on westbound I-20, just east of the Vicksburg city limits.
First responders arrived to find an overturned vehicle in the middle of the interstate, where one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey responded to the location to begin the investigation and handle the removal of the victim.
Two additional occupants were injured in the crash. One was airlifted to a Jackson hospital by AirCare, while the other was transported by ground ambulance. Their conditions have not yet been released.
The crash caused traffic to back up for several hours as emergency personnel worked to treat the victims, secure the roadway and clear the wreckage.
No further details have been released. VDN will provide updates as more information becomes available.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is in charge of this investigation.
