Blade Runner and free popcorn at the Strand July 19

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – Sci-fi fans and movie buffs alike will have the chance to revisit a cinematic classic when Blade Runner returns to the big screen at The Strand Theatre on Saturday, July 19, at 7 p.m.
Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford in one of his most iconic roles, Blade Runner immerses audiences in a dystopian future filled with high-tech possibility and grim urban decay. Ford plays Rick Deckard, a brooding detective tasked with tracking down rogue replicants—human-like androids with dangerous agendas. As he navigates a world of moral ambiguity and artificial life, Deckard encounters a mysterious woman whose hidden truths threaten to shake his very sense of identity.
The film also features standout performances from Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Daryl Hannah, Edward James Olmos, and William Sanderson. With its haunting visuals, philosophical undertones, and memorable score, Blade Runner has earned its place as a cornerstone of modern cinema and a defining work in the science fiction genre.
Tickets are available for $9 in advance at Highway 61 Coffeehouse and $10 at the door. In classic Strand tradition, popcorn will be free for all attendees.
The screening will take place at The Strand Theatre, located at 717 Clay Street in downtown Vicksburg. Organizers encourage early arrival to grab the best seats and enjoy an evening that blends cinematic nostalgia with timeless themes of humanity and identity.
