VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Bumper Brogdon, St. Aloysius Head Football Coach, has announced retirement. The news was announced on Wednesday afternoon in a press release from the Vicksburg Catholic School.
Press Release:
St. Aloysius High School announced today that Head Football Coach Brogdon has decided to retire following the conclusion of the 2025 – 2026 school year.
“It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement as Head Football Coach of St. Aloysius High School,” said Coach Brogdon. “My time here has been extremely rewarding, and while retiring is something I have always looked forward to, I did not believe the opportunity would come so soon.”

Coach Brogdon shared that St. Aloysius holds a special meaning for his family. His daughter is a 2025 graduate, his oldest son will graduate in 2026, and he looks forward to his youngest son also graduating from St. Aloysius in the future. He expressed deep gratitude for the support of faculty, staff, students, and the broader school community, and praised the administration for its commitment to what is best for students.
“I look forward to watching St. Aloysius continue to grow and prosper in the years ahead,” Coach Brogdon said. “It is simply time for me to do so from a different lens — as a parent and supporter. Go Flashes!”
St. Aloysius High School expresses its sincere appreciation to Coach Brogdon for his leadership, dedication, and service to the Flashes football program.
