VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Doris Ann Hosemann Davidson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Doris was born in Vicksburg on September 12, 1942, to the late Doris Logue and Robert Clement Hosemann, Sr.

Doris was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She graduated in 1960 from St. Joseph Academy in Bay St. Louis, MS, and attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. Doris worked as a deputy clerk in the Warren County Chancery Clerk’s office under Mark Chaney. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation, having served as president of the local chapter. Doris was a sales associate for many years with McRaes, Belk, and Dillards. She retired from Dillards at the age of 75. As a lifelong lover of the arts, she found deep joy in music, celebrating its ability to inspire, comfort, and connect people across generations.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Robert Clement Hosemann, Jr. She is survived by her children, Risa Cathey Weaver (David), James “Beau” Cathey (Dee), and Valeria Cathey Johnson (Bud); grandchildren, Erica Efferson, Brandon Ingram, Hunter Johnson (Lily), Austin Weaver, Johnny Weaver (Kim), Christa Browning (Andrew); and great-grandchildren, Bralynne Efferson, Kaelyn Efferson, Hailee Weaver, Callie Weaver, Jace Weaver, Colton Weaver, Maizie Browning, Dean Browning, and Will Johnson. She is also survived by siblings, H. Gerald Hosemann (Val), David Hosemann (Connie), and Mary Dee Hosemann Halford (Jimmy), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue. A funeral mass will be held following the visitation at St. Paul Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rusty Vincent officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Scott Hosemann, Todd Hosemann, Brad Hosemann, Jerry Hosemann, Jr., Shannon Hosemann, John David Hosemann, Justin Hosemann, Jimbo Halford, and grandsons, Brandon Ingram and Hunter Johnson.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 713 Crawford St. Vicksburg, MS 39180 or Vicksburg Catholic Schools, 1900 Grove St. Vicksburg, MS 39183.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the employees and residents of Vicksburg Convalescent Home and Martha James for their care and compassion.
