Fatal Accident on 61 North near Valley Park

VICKSBURG, MS. – A three vehicle accident occurred this afternoon around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 61 North at Valley Park, injuring two and killing one.

One of the injured was air lifted to a Jackson hospital, while the other injured person was taken by ambulance to a Vicksburg area hospital.

No word on the cause of the accident at this time. According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, 61 North in both directions will remain closed for another two hours. Take another route and avoid the area.

The MHP has identified the deceased as Michael Robinson, Jr., 20 years old.
