GameStop in Vicksburg to close permanently
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — GameStop in Vicksburg will soon permanently close its doors, with the final day of business set for Jan. 15, 2026.
A sign posted on the front door notifies customers that the store will cease operations next week. The notice thanks customers for their loyalty and provides information regarding reservations and promotions tied to the closure.
“Thank you for being a loyal GameStop customer,” the sign reads. “If you have made any reservations of product, these are transferred to Vicksburg, Mississippi. Take a picture of this sign and bring it to any location listed here for a 20% trade-in bonus on games and accessories from Jan. 1, 2026, through Jan. 31, 2026.”
The Vicksburg location has served local gamers for many years and is located at 2310 Iowa Blvd. The closure marks the end of GameStop’s physical presence in the city, reflecting a broader shift in retail as consumers increasingly turn to digital purchases and online shopping.
No additional details were immediately available regarding the reason for the closure.
