JACKSON, Miss. – Governor Reeves went on X, formerly twitter, yesterday to announce the first Battle of Tombigbee softball game. The charity softball game will pit the Mississippi Legislature against the Alabama Legislature.

“I’m not sure if these Alabama folks know what they’re getting themselves into,” said Reeves, “They must have forgotten that Mississippi’s teams have won two of the last three NCAA championships.”

The Governor is so confident in his state that he has put out a friendly wager with Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.

“In the off chance that the Alabama team happens to win then I’ll send ya’ll some of the world’s best catfish found right here in Mississippi,” said the governor.

Governor Ivey responded by saying “Go ahead and get those Mississippi catfish on ice and send them my way.”

“Alabama is a baseball state. From legends like Hank Aaron and Willie Mays, Alabama is full of MVPs. Even Michael Jordan took his swing in Birmingham.” said the Alabama governor.

The Alabama governor stated that if Alabama were to lose the charity softball game, she would send some Sessions Peanuts to Reeves.

The game will be on June 22 at Trustmark Park, home of the Mississippi Braves, at 11 am and is open to the public.

“We’re a state just full of winners, and we know how to play ball.” bragged Reeves.
