Earlier in his career, Baker served at Benton Academy in Benton, Mississippi, where he taught U.S. History, Geography, Government, and German while coaching multiple sports and leading teams to district championships and state runner-up finishes.

A graduate of Hinds Community College and the University of Memphis, Baker holds degrees in Political Science and maintains a MAIS teaching license along with certifications in athletic administration, emergency health care, and coaching safety. His strengths include organizational leadership, mentorship, compliance, and community engagement.
