Judge declines to revoke bond for Bankhead after testimony disputes gun claim
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Warren County judge on Thursday denied a request to revoke the bond of Dariyon Bankhead, who is charged with molestation, after ruling that prosecutors failed to show probable cause for a new allegation.
Bankhead appeared in Warren County Circuit Court following his recent arrest in Clinton on a charge of possession of a stolen firearm. Prosecutors argued the new charge warranted revoking his existing bond.
Bankhead was originally arrested in 2024 on a molestation charge. On Aug. 14, 2025, police responded to a 911 call from his mother’s boyfriend, who claimed Bankhead pulled a gun on him and threatened to shoot him.
During Thursday’s hearing, Bankhead’s mother testified she never saw a gun during the incident. A Clinton Police Department officer testified that he responded to the call and spoke with Bankhead during the investigation, though he did not speak with the mother at the scene.
Bankhead was represented by defense attorney Noah Drake, who requested his client be placed on house arrest instead of having his bond revoked. Assistant District Attorney Liem Walker represented the state.
Judge Toni Terrett denied the state’s request to revoke Bankhead’s bond, citing a lack of probable cause based on the testimony.
Bankhead remains free on his original bond.
