Vicksburg man shot in Claiborne County; Suspect arrested

CLAIBORNE, COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg man was shot in Claiborne County over the weekend, and an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting that left Nicholas Sanders injured. He was shot reportedly three times.

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on November 14, 2025, near Club Old Skool on Highway 18.

Deputies responded within moments and located one male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The suspect, Kenneth Townsend, was identified on scene by witnesses and taken into custody without further incident. Townsend has been charged in connection with the shooting.

A firearm was later recovered by deputies as part of the investigation.
