VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The Magnolia Boyz 7-on-7 football team is entering its fourth season as the program continues to grow and expand across the region.

The team is made up of athletes from Warren County and surrounding areas, including Jefferson and Adams counties. The Magnolia Boyz compete in multiple age divisions, including 14U, 15U and 18U, and are led by head coach, CEO and founder Skooter Wells.

“This isn’t just another youth team,” Wells said. “Magnolia Boyz is about creating disciplined, driven young men who compete hard, lead loud and represent their community with pride. Our motto says it all: ‘Earn the Name. Defend the Standard.’”

Wells said the program focuses on more than football, emphasizing academics, character and personal development.

“We’ve got athletes grinding on the field, excelling in school and chasing big dreams across regional tournaments this season,” he said. “These kids are showing what happens when talent meets structure and belief. It’s bigger than football. It’s about culture, commitment and giving youth a platform to rise.”

Wells founded the Magnolia Boyz in 2023. Since then, the team has traveled to compete in tournaments in Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana.

Notable former players include Tyler Henderson, DeCorey Knight Jr., Royale Shelvy and Mincer Minor IV, along with several others who have gone on to play college football.

The coaching staff also includes Jared Bell, Terrell Roby, Jamarcus Williams, Demarcus Jones, Miraculous Powers, Delmon Johnson and Busta Knight.

The Magnolia Boyz are currently seeking sponsors. Those interested in joining or supporting the program can contact Wells at 769-203-0999.
