“Pale Male” in custody

Man wanted after leading police on chase through the city in a stolen vehicle and on foot is captured.

A male described as pale by eye witnesses is in custody after fleeing in a stolen vehicle and on foot.

At about 6:40 p.m., a Vicksburg Police Officer, Carlton Phillips, was able to run down, tackle, and capture the desperado in the woods between Hillcrest and Queen Streets in Vicksburg.

Earlier the male had led police on a chase through the city in a white Jeep that is believed to have been stolen. That vehicle was recovered at the corner of Washington Street and Oak where it made contact with a power pole.

About an hour and a half later several people in the area contacted the Vicksburg Daily News to report the police were very active in the are again.
