One injured in single vehicle accident on Iowa

One person was injured in an accident on Iowa under the I-20 overpass.

Just before 7 p.m., a southbound vehicle made impact with a support pole for the I-20 overpass on Iowa Boulevard, just past Iowa Avenue. The driver, a white male, initially was unable to get out of the vehicle that was smoking. He complained he was unable to move or feel his legs. When the first units arrived he was lying on the ground, still unable to move or feel his legs.

Units were able to quickly transport him to an area hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time.

The roadway is clear and traffic is moving slowly through the area.
