Pasters Tony, Bethany Winkler celebrate 25 years of ministry at Refuge Church
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Today marks a special anniversary for Pastors Tony and Bethany Winkler celebrate 25 years of ministry at Refuge Church in Vicksburg.
Refuge Church will host a special anniversary celebration honoring Pastors Tony and Bethany Winkler’s 25 years of ministry on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. The service will take place at Refuge Church, located at 6202 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg.
The Winklers officially made Vicksburg their home on February 15, 2001, arriving with their three young children and a calling to serve a growing congregation then known as Vicksburg Church of God. What began as a step of faith soon became a lifelong commitment to both the church and the surrounding community.
Pastor Tony Winkler has faithfully served as Lead Pastor, while Pastor Bethany Winkler has ministered alongside him as Worship Pastor. Together, they have led the congregation through seasons of growth, transition, and renewed vision, helping shape what is now known as Refuge Church — a place dedicated to offering hope, restoration, and spiritual refuge to individuals and families across the region.
Over the past 25 years, the Winklers’ ministry has been marked by compassionate leadership, strong biblical teaching, and a heart for worship and community outreach. Members often describe their leadership as relational and servant-hearted, emphasizing connection, encouragement, and faith in action.
Pastor Bethany’s leadership in worship has helped cultivate an atmosphere of praise and unity, while Pastor Tony’s pastoral vision and preaching have guided the church with consistency and purpose. Beyond the pulpit, the Winklers have invested deeply in the Vicksburg community, raising their family here while ministering to generations of church members.
The community is invited to attend and join in celebrating a legacy of faith, service, and dedication that has impacted countless lives over the past quarter century.
As Refuge Church looks toward the future, this anniversary stands as a reminder that what began as a faithful move to Vicksburg in 2001 has grown into a lasting ministry rooted in commitment, compassion, and unwavering faith.
