Remembering Dorothy Lee Carson

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Funeral Service for Dorothy Lee Carson are to be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Triumphant Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev Dexter Jones officiating; interment shall follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H.Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 23, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Carson, a lifelong resident of Kings, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 14. She was 99.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Carson; her parents, Jeff Christian and Ethel Collins; her daughter Ethel Yarrington; her brothers Earl Gooden and Percy Strothers; and her sisters Dellmare Burns and Ann Mae Gooden. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Joslyn Carson of Vicksburg, Miss.; her sons A.J. Carson, Malcom Carson; and Clifton Jeffery all of Vicksburg, Miss; one sister Ms. Jeffretha Christian of Vicksburg, Miss.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren; Crockett; Young; Taylor; Carson; and Christian Family.
