Robert “Shan” Woods: 1972-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Robert Shannon Woods (Shan) passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, June 15th, 2025. He was 52 years old. Shan was born September 1st, 1972 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was the son of Robert R. Woods and Sandra Prescott Lauderdale. He was owner and operator of Woods Trucking Company.

Shan is survived by his wife Rachel Woods, his son Shawn Woods (Hanna), his father Robert R. Woods, his mother Sandra Prescott Lauderdale (Alan), his sister Tonya Woods, his brother Adam Woods (Erica), his nephews Wilder Woods and Rush Woods, numerous cousins, and extended family.

Shan was a resident of the Eagle Lake community in Vicksburg, MS. He enjoyed taking the boat out, mud riding, fishing on his pier, and spending time with family. He was a loving husband, supportive father, and loyal friend. His kindness, generosity, and tender spirit will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS on Thursday June 19th, 2025. There will be a visitation at 1 P.M. and a service at 2 P.M. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Prescott, Jason Scallions, Chris Emfinger, Jamie Williams, Paul Rayborn, Rusty Woods, Robert Simms, and Vince Bunton.
