Marilyn Julia Parker Randolph: 1942-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Marilyn Julia Parker Randolph, a Vicksburg resident, passed away on Sunday, June 15, in her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 83. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Rodney.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lover Parker Sr. and Estella Garrison Parker; her husband, Overton Randolph Jr.; her brothers, Monroe Parker Jr. and Alvin Parker; and her sister, Wilma Parker.

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Overton Randolph III of Vicksburg; her three daughters, Virginia Randolph Davis of Kathleen, Ga., Rosalynn Randolph McGriggs of Mesquite, Texas, and Jacqueline Parker McKinley of Vicksburg; her brother, Love Parker Jr. of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Marilyn Julia Parker Randolph are to be held on Saturday, June 21, in the Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 1701 Rodney Road in Rodney, Miss., at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Hugh Johnson officiating; interment shall follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, in the funeral home from 5 to 6 p.m.
