The Vicksburg Theater Guild Presents “Rock of Ages” Musical

The Vicksburg Theater Guild is putting on a show called the “Rock of Ages” at the VTG Theatre. The show is directed by Celeste Cochran with music directors Cindy and Eric Fowler and choreographer Heather Sumners.

The musical takes viewers on a trip back to the 1980’s.

The show will run from May 10th to May 19th, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. (*Note: The Sunday, May 19th performance will be at 5:30 p.m.) Tickets are priced at $20, with discounted rates of $15 available for senior citizens (65 and over) and youth (12-18).

“Rock of Ages” is rated PG-13 and requires ID for entry; those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. The production contains some adult material, and parents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the content before bringing young children.

The show is set in the backdrop of Hollywood’s Sunset Strip in the late 1980s, the musical tells the tale of a legendary venue facing the threat of redevelopment by German developers. As the party rages on, a group of determined individuals must band together to save the Strip and preserve its rock ‘n’ roll legacy.

Featuring iconic hits from bands like Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, and Whitesnake, “Rock of Ages” promises an unforgettable journey filled with nostalgia, laughter, and plenty of head-banging tunes.
