Second Annual “We Care” Basketball and Football Clinics are held this week in Hermanville
The Second Annual We Care Basketball and Football Clinics were held this week in Hermanville, Mississippi. Supervisor Patricia Chambliss organized the events to provide a form of structured entertainment for the youth in the community.
“Sports makes our lives interesting by teaching us respect, discipline, friendship, leadership, resilience, teamwork, and overcoming adversity,” Chambliss said.
The children who attended the basketball camp on Tuesday had the opportunity to have some fun all while learning the basic fundamentals of basketball.
“I would like to thank Coach Travalyn Smith(Jefferson County High School), Coach Lorenzo Thomas and Coach Eric Reeves, (Port Gibson High School) and Coach Dewayne Thomas, Referee, and the Middle Mississippi High School Association for their support today,” Chambliss added. “A special thanks to the parents for getting the kids out to the event.Thanks to everyone who made this event a success. “
