Sharkey County’s Jeremiah Johnson had a productive season at Georgia State
Sharkey County, Miss.-Sharkey County, Mississippi native and Georgia State University football player Jeremiah Johnson had a productive season in 2024. Johnson starred at safety for the Panthers where he was recognized on numerous occasions for his athletic ability.
In the 2024 season, Johnson collected 69 tackles and six pass deflections. Two of his best performances was against James Madison University and Appalachian State University where he grabbed 10 tackles in each of those games.
Johnson has spent the last three seasons playing at Georgia State University. In his three years he has a total of 150 tackles, nine pass deflections and two interceptions.
Back in December, Johnson announced that he will be entering the transfer portal and since then he has received offers to school like the University of Memphis, Georgia Tech , Vanderbilt, and North Carolina State.
Before starring at Georgia State, Johnson played two years at Mississippi Delta Community College where he finished with 31 tackles.
In high school, Johnson starred at South Delta in Rolling Fork, Mississippi where he helped the Bulldogs to a 10-2 season in 2019. He finished that year with 123 tackles and seven interceptions.

2022: Played in 12 games in his first season at GSU, moving from cornerback to safety late in the season … Started at safety in the season finale at Marshall and made a season-high 10 tackles … Had four tackles and a pass breakup in win at Southern Miss … Had a tackle for loss in win at Army.
JUNIOR COLLEGE/HIGH SCHOOL: Played two seasons at Mississippi Delta Community College … Mississippi native who played at South Delta High School, where he was a two-standout as a free safety and wide receiver.
