St. Aloysius boys edge Clinton Christian in 68-64 thriller
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius High School’s boys’ basketball team held off a late push from Clinton Christian Academy to secure a hard-fought 68-64 victory, showcasing balanced scoring and strong defensive play.
Carson Gleese led the Flashes with 22 points, providing a steady offensive presence throughout the contest. Garrod Bunch matched Gleese with 22 points of his own and added four steals, playing a key role on both ends of the floor. Carson Henderson contributed nine points, while Sadler Lambiotte filled the stat sheet with six points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals to help control the tempo. Alan Stauts added four points, Grant Gattle scored three, and Carter Henderson chipped in two points to round out the scoring for St. Aloysius, which finished with 68 points to Clinton Christian’s 64.
In girls’ action, St. Aloysius fell to Clinton Christian Academy, 48-34. Taryn Lusby led the Lady Flashes with 11 points, followed by Megan Theriot with nine. Farrell Roberson scored five points, Olivia Larsen added three, and Annslee Averett, Elle Larson and Kennadi Blassingame each finished with two points.
At the junior high level, the Lady Flashes earned a convincing 27-11 win over Clinton Christian. Kennadi Blassingame paced the team with nine points, Joy Dement scored eight, Kelci Bingham added four, and Addy Hardaway, Analeigh Herring and Reese Lyons each contributed two points in the victory.
