Temporary Road and Parking Closures for VNMP Maintenance

VICKSBURG, MS – The Vicksburg National Military Park will be conducting pavement maintenance for roads and parking areas in the upcoming weeks. Temporary closures will occur during this process. Work will include milling, paving, micro-surfacing, and re-striping. This work is conducted on a regular basis in the park to maintain road surfaces on the open park roads.  

Temporary closures for the Week of October 20:

• Monday Oct. 21:  Visitor Center parking lot closed.
• Tuesday Oct. 22:  Texas Memorial and Fort Hill parking lots closed.
• Wednesday Oct. 23:  Texas Memorial and 2nd Texas Lunette parking lots closed.
• Thursday Oct. 24:  Fort Hill parking lot closed.

Temporary closures for the Week of October 27:

• Monday Oct. 28:  Visitor Center parking lot closed.
• Tuesday Oct. 29:  National Cemetery roads closed.
• Wednesday Oct. 30:  National Cemetery roads closed.
• Thursday Oct. 31: Connecting Ave one lane at a time closures. Look for flaggers.

Temporary closures for the Week of November 3:

• Monday Nov. 4:  Sherman Circle closed.
• Tuesday Nov. 5:  Graveyard Road one lane at a time closures. Look for flaggers.
• Wednesday Nov 6:  South Loop closed.
• Thursday Nov 7:  South Loop closed.
• Friday Nov 8:  South Loop closed.
