Thief steals trail camera in Vicksburg; camera records them for two days
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A stolen trail cell camera was inadvertently left on by the thief and documented his activities, including drug interactions, leading to numerous arrests.
On Friday morning, a Vicksburg local, who has requested to remain anonymous, received an unusual signal from his trail camera. The camera had been placed on a hunting ground near Warrenton Road in Vicksburg. The Spypoint Flex-M trail camera not only captures photos and videos of wildlife as it happens, but also gives its exact location.

The camera said it was at Walmart in Vicksburg, so the camera owner called the Vicksburg police. Officer Hunter Anderson responded, and over the next couple of hours, Anderson tracked the phone and recorded the video information it transmitted. The phone eventually ended up in Jackson, Mississippi, and captured footage of what appears to be illegal activity.
At about 10 p.m., Sunday night, Jackson police officers, armed with a lot of video evidence of illegal activity, raided the location where the camera was located and arrested the individuals involved.
