Vicksburg man arrested on trafficking, drug possession charges

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — On October 8, 2025, Narcotics Investigators with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested 47-year-old Kelvin Lashay Jones of Vicksburg, in reference to Trafficking a Controlled Substance.
The Vicksburg Police Department Narcotics Investigators, with the assistance of Warren County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Investigators and the United States Postal Service work together after a suspicious package was seized from a mail distribution center. During the investigation, information was gathered, and a search warrant was obtained for a residence on Buena Vista Dr. in the City Limits of Vicksburg.
During the execution of the search warrant Investigators found over 1200 dosage units of Xanax tablets, 162 dosage units of Adderall, 3 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of Psilocin (Mushrooms), 22 vials of THC oil and a 40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.

Jones is being charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance Adderall, a schedule 2 narcotic, Possession of a Controlled Substance Psilocin (mushrooms), a schedule 1 narcotic, Possession of Controlled Substance, Xanax, with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine. And approximately $16,750. In suspected drug proceeds
Jones was arraigned in Vicksburg Municipal Court and received a bond of $700,000.
The investigation and arrest was a multi-agency effort between the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Lt. Donnie Heggins with VPD led the investigation, assisted by Capt. Dwayne Smith and Inv. Blake Scallions. They were assisted by Warren County Investigators Jeff Merritt and Dusty Keys.
