A Vicksburg woman pleaded guilty to Directing a Child to commit a felony on Wednesday. Laquesha Davis, who was initially charged with the June 14, 2021 murder of Malik Vallerie, gave an open plea in front of Judge James Chaney.

Davis’ former co-defendant, Demarion Reed, was also charged with murder but was acquitted earlier this year.

Vallerie was shot to death on a basketball court in the Waterville area. His body was found after he collapsed shortly from where the incident took place in the Kings Community.

Davis will be sentenced on August 16.
